Keith Jordan

Coaches Learning Network Consultant


Coach Keith Jordan has over 20 years coaching experience including 13 seasons as a high school coach in Missouri (nine as a head coach), and 11 at the collegiate level (seven as a defensive coordinator).

 

In addition to being a Coaches Learning Network Consultant he is also the featured presenter of the CLN Special Teams Video Clinic series.

 

He began coaching as the head coach at Jasper H.S. (1982-1984), before coaching at Sarcoxie H.S. (1985), and Lamar H.S. (1986-1988).

 

He served as a graduate assistant at Pittsburgh State under two of the top coaches in college football today, first for current Texas A&M coach Dennis Franchione in 1989, and then for current PSU coach Chuck Broyles in spring of 1990.

 

He was the head coach at Kirksville H.S. from 1990-1993, and then coached running backs at Northeast Missouri State (now Truman State) in 1994, before serving as a defensive coordinator at Southwest Baptist State (1995-1996) and Northern Michigan University (1997-1998).

 

From 1999-2000 he coached Monett H.S., and then served as the defensive coordinator at Fort Scott Community College from 2001-2003, where he also served as the assistant head coach and the strength and conditioning coordinator.

 

He returned to NMU as the defensive backs coach for the 2004-2005 seasons.

 

As a college coach he was the position coach of three eventual Harlon Hill Trophy winners, the NCAA II equivalent of the Heisman Trophy for the nationís top player.

 

After graduating from Erie High School, Kansas, where he was a three-sport athlete, he walked onto the Pittsburgh State University football team in 1977. At PSU he was a three-year letter winner and an academic all-conference free safety as a senior.
